Regions?
Just (litrally just) got a new build of guild wars and on the log on screen says things about regions, have I missed something before because I was wondering what it means (regions are Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China). Can we play in those regions or something?

Selecting a different region does nothing. It just takes you to your default one instead.

I noticed that too. It doesn't seem to do anything yet though. Anyone feel like shedding some light on the subject?

Closed beta? That doesn't sound like ArenaNet at all. They haven't had that since some of the Prophecies beta weekends...

If I remember correctly an article, it was closed as a compromise to open up servers in China, due to their regulations and censorships.

"Closed Beta" for China would be the full game we play now but boxing them in so they can iron out bugs with language translation, interaction, GUI size / placement etc would be my guess.

I don't know anything about how the regions can be changed etc currently however you *used* to be have a limited number of changes between regions. Thats how I managed to come over to the American servers from Europe.
LiQuId StEeL, the European servers were partly seperated by languages from what I saw during my limited stay on them. |

^He meant that he thinks there shouldn't be an American/European/Korean/Japanese.... server; just one giant one with different districts for each language.
